What to expect

Cyber-Counselling
Services are provided virtually by telephone or through a secured clinical platform for telehealth (video) sessions through Jane App and are accessible to anyone throughout the province of British Columbia.
E-Mental Health is the use of any form of technology to provide counselling services. Benefits can include: Physical Distancing: we can meet safely without being in the same room. Convenience: We can meet from the comfort of your home or any other location without a need for you to travel to an office. Effectiveness: Research shows that virtual services are as effective as in-person.
Clinical Counselling/General Counselling
Evidence-based counselling for clinical mental health diagnoses including but not limited to Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Trauma-and Stressor Related-Disorders, Somatic Disorders, Gender Dysphoria, and Other Mental Health Disorders. General counselling can be beneficial for non-clinical concerns including separation/divorce, life changes and transitions, self-esteem, workplace stress, and other challenges and concerns.

Youth Counselling Ages 10-17
Being a young person can sometimes feel overwhelming. Between school family, friends, relationships, and growing up, it's normal to experience challenges that can feel hard to talk about. Counselling offers a safe and non-judgmental space to share what is going on, get support, learn some skills, or get some strategies to manage and cope in different ways.
Some of the things I can help with are:
-
Feeling anxious, sad, or stressed
-
Friendship or relationship struggles
-
Family changes or conflict at home
-
Bullying, peer pressure, or school worries
-
Low self-esteem or confidence
-
Grief, loss, or big life changes
-
Big changes, like graduating, changing schools, or moving
🌈 My Approach
Every person is unique.
-
For younger kids (10–12): Play, art, and creative activities to help you express feelings in a way that feels natural and comfortable.
-
For teens (13–17): Open conversations and activities to help explore emotions, decisions, and goals in a supportive space.
Evidence-based techniques—like mindfulness, creative expression, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)—are used to help youth build confidence, manage emotions, and develop healthy coping skills.
🏡 Family Involvement
Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process. When appropriate, families are invited to be part of the process—always respecting the youth’s need for privacy and independence.
🤝 Confidential and Supportive
Trust is key. Everything shared in counselling is private, except in rare situations where safety might be at risk. This is explained clearly at the start so everyone feels comfortable and supported and knows what to expect.
